Overall Course Evaluation

University of California, Davis

April 3-7, 2001

WHAT WERE THE STRENGTHS OF THIS COURSE? WHAT DID YOU VALUE MOST?

bulletThe speakers were first rate for the most part. State to State was great – I am not alone – liked the technology and last day – values and ethics.
bulletExcellent!
bulletGreat job, very well organized, burp!
bulletEnjoyed the variety of topics and grouping of topics. Field trips were especially worthwhile. Strength is networking opportunities with other. Food very good!!
bulletIt could have taken me years to learn what I did here in 5 days. Suzanne, Jennifer, Thank you! I hope to be back someday.
bulletInformation provided by other states.
bulletThis course was so interesting and inspiring. I really enjoyed all the speakers and talking with others who do what I do. The speakers, teleconference and field trips were fantastic. I’m so happy to have come to your course.
bulletThe thought and planning you folks put into it.
bulletGreat job by everyone at PREP and committee. Thanks to all those who presented as well as those who helped on the field trip.
bulletThe different state perspectives.
bulletVery useful presentation, great field trip. It was good to interact with other states and EPA on a casual basis. This is perhaps the best course of any type I have attended. Well done!
bulletGreat interaction with the other participants.
bulletMeeting and interfacing with people from other states.
bulletBiotechnology presentation, trip to Napa Valley, Father Miles’ presentation, Roger Schmidt’s presentation.
bulletThe biotech was a little too technical. Great presenters and course info. Wish we could have done more field events.
bulletJake, have a great retirement and thank you for making the PREP courses so successful.
bulletI found the entire course to be informative and was able to learn something from each presentation. Making contacts with others involved in pesticide regulation is extremely valuable. However the real strength of the course lies with those who pull it together. Securing competent speakers, arranging field trips and seeing to everyone’s creature comforts is no easy task. I have never seen it done better. Thanks for a very enjoyable and informative course.

HOW COULD THIS COURSE BE IMPROVED?

bulletThe course is great but I would like the states to have more time to tell their story. "Information Technology" by Faust Gorham was outstanding.
bulletLose the cow bell!! Just start program when breaks are over – participants will be on time… no need to coral adults (personal responsibility).
bulletIt couldn’t.
bulletNeeds no improvement.
bulletShorter days.
bulletMove it to different states.
bulletThe course was very good as is. I can’t really offer any suggestions.

HOW WILL YOU APPLY WHAT YOU LEARNED?

bulletMany aspects of presentation & systems can be utilized in our agency.
bulletApply to day to day operations.
bulletTry to recommend changes to Albany.
bulletIt’s hard to pinpoint specific ideas or concepts that I may be able to apply to our regulatory programs. However I do feel that the information provided by Lee Casaleggio and Father Riley can be helpful when evaluating both personal and personnel issues.

OTHER COURSES/TOPIC YOU'D LIKE TO SEE US OFFER?

bulletStructural workshop.
bulletTraining new inspectors, sampling techniques.
bulletA presentation on just how the EPA determines what is enforceable label language would be interesting.
