Pesticide Applicator Certification Program Workshop

Overall Course Evaluation

University of California, Davis

[updated 10/23/02]

WHAT WERE THE STRENGTHS OF THIS COURSE? WHAT DID YOU VALUE MOST?

bulletGetting a standardized, state plan (C&T Plan) computerized template. This is great for getting everyone to a minimum standard and for getting plans approved.
bulletThe course was good, however the content/discussion was troublesome. We need to do the recommendations. We need to move forward, make the decisions, and do the implementation.
bulletGreat discussion!
bulletThis was a great opportunity for information interchange among states and EPA with regard to important C&T issues. This is a very good forum for this type of interchange of ideas and information. As usual, PREP has excelled!
bulletInformation exchange between regulators, new ideas that can be considered for my state agency.
bulletWas a good course, but very taxing on the brain.
bulletAllowed inputs from states in the planning process.
bulletNetworking and learning new ideas from other states. Handouts are useful as reference.
bulletVery good discussions.
bulletSmall enough to have good discussions. Push to do something.
bulletAllowed for active participation by everyone in attendance. Everyone’s opinions or recommendations were valued.
bulletInteraction with/hearing about other states’ programs.

HOW COULD THIS COURSE BE IMPROVED?

bulletMeeting room space limited for breakouts; not sure what purpose or end result was expected from last day of brainstorming.
bulletGet all handouts in book; hard to follow where we were in discussions.
bulletNo improvements needed.
bulletProvide participants with a list of ideas to brainstorm prior to meeting.
bulletBetter building with fewer distractions.
bulletLast brainstorming sessions were not very beneficial.
bulletAccommodations.
bulletBetter lighting during AV presentations; more organization for breakouts.
bulletGreat course! Just hope some of the things discussed can be put into effect.
bulletIt was too bad that one of the faculty dominated almost each and every discussion. Many of us had our hands raised to comment, yet were either interrupted or never heard from. It made me feel like her opinions (Ramsay’s) were more important than mine.
bulletGood opportunity to discuss a variety of relevant issues, may have needed a bit more structure and focus at times; great hosts, as usual.
bulletLess days, longer hours per day, more breakouts.
bulletNon-vibrating room! Quieter hotel!

HOW WILL YOU APPLY WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED?

bulletRule changes future goals.
bulletTake these discussions a step further and formulate plans for implementation.
bulletImplement new ideas that are appropriate for my program.
bulletWill continue to input, will use template.
bulletChange C&T program.
bulletIncorporate various concepts into state’s programs.
bulletSecurity, ID, template.
