Pesticides & Water Quality

This always-popular course will be focused toward State and Tribal FIFRA Water Quality Specialists. We will move regulators beyond the old model of Pesticide Management Plans toward an overall program of protecting water quality. Highlights to include: clarifying definitions on reporting criteria (pesticides of interest/concern), online reporting of WQ activities, technical session on preventing runoff and the science behind buffers/setbacks, interaction with pesticide labs, how analytical data is used by regulators, and aquatic pest control program impacts on WQ. Relationship-building, EPA performance measures and FIFRA WQ grant guidance will also be covered.
