This continues to be one of the most popular offerings for new and
experienced State and Tribal pesticide managers and covers topics
relating to current issues of science, technology and policy. Two
significant topics discussed at this course will be: new soil fumigant
label requirements focusing on outreach/education; and the NPDES
permitting issues. Other topics may include: building partnerships to
resolve issues and improve dialog; managing institutional memory loss
due to retirement and program downsizing; risk communication; ethics;
drift topics; overview of the ESA and EPA’s ES protection program;
container/containment; risk-based approaches to inspections; navigating
top websites for technical information on pesticides; pesticide waste
disposal and container recycling programs; how to obtain pesticide use
information data; agency roles in food safety, partners,
their roles and goals. Course will
focus on improving the technical, policy and management skills of
participants. |
