Returning after a 10-year hiatus, this course is intended for State and
Tribal laboratory directors or supervisors either alone or paired with their
SLA compliance/enforcement manager. This
course is designed to bring together both aspects of a pesticide regulatory
program - aspects dealing with analytical chemistry and the enforcement and
program decision-making areas. Topics may include: new chemicals,
methodologies and instrumentation; resource/funding
issues; effective communication with regulatory
program/EPA/industry; what to do to ensure you win challenges in court;
impacts of nanotechnology and PIPs; contingency planning (i.e. continuation
of services during emergency event); laboratory
role in emergency pesticide incidents; terrorism and food; national
testing consistency; potential areas of collaboration and improving
efficiencies; chasing the infinite zero – what to do with such low results? |
