Revisiting this course after a two-year break and a new venue across
the street from OPP, the focus will be on the process for registering
and re-evaluating pesticides at OPP with complimentary emphasis on the
state registrations. Topics may include: comprehensive journey through
the pesticide registration process from an industry and EPA perspective
(start to finish – from molecular discovery to final Section 3
registration); harmonization of global registrations; understanding the
new Pesticide Re-Evaluation Division (old SRRD) and PRIA II; the concept
of pesticide labeling and registration as it relates to risk reduction
and carry through to what the states must do on their end to process;
Section 18 and 24(c) policies and procedures; soil fumigation label
changes focusing on training and outreach; label-mandated training as a
part of reregistration; label review manual QA/QC program within RD;
comparing the different types/procedures for cancellations; the Federal
docket process and what it means to SLAs; the challenges re: FIFRA 25(b)
labels; process and procedures involved in endangered species labeling,
including consultation process and county bulletin development;
unresolved labeling issues such as treated seed, drift mitigation,
disposal directions, “professional use only”, and logos (Design for the
Environment program). |
