Pesticides and Water Quality
September 21-24, 2010
At University of California, Davis
Please note this course
has been condensed to 4 days.
This always-popular course will be focused toward State and Tribal
FIFRA Water Quality Specialists. With significant changes coming in how
pesticide applications to, on, or near water are regulated, this course will
emphasize the NPDES program (preparation for permit implementation and
creating partnerships with water agencies), policy aspects of the Pesticides
in Water program (including POINTS database, conducting pesticide
evaluations, FIFRA grant guidance, balancing and managing competing
state/federal work priorities) and monitoring techniques and strategies that
support FIFRA and NPDES goals. Other highlights may include:
laboratory abilities, capacities, and impacts on regulatory programs;
approaches to pesticide residue data interpretation; environmental modeling
for evaluations and predictions; and emerging concerns/contaminants and
invasive species. |
