Senior Pesticide Managers WorkshopApril 23-26, 2012 This workshop pilot is a hybrid of the traditional Comprehensive and Senior Manager’s courses. The goal of this workshop is to bring together experienced managers of pesticide programs to make progress on addressing important policy issues and also to explore emerging issues science and technology. The target audience will be experienced managers of pesticide programs who are responsible for all aspects of the pesticide program under the FIFRA cooperative agreements. Topics related to the course theme of science, technology and policy may include: input/development of performance measures; how states develop and implement inspection and investigation SOPs and why; how states make decisions regarding interpretations about label language; soil and other fumigants – how to calculate buffer zones, respiratory issues, enforcement challenges; lawn care/tree shrub care; pollinator protection and resistance management; and how can technology help us do our jobs smarter? We will confer with AAPCO and SFIREG for other issues to address in this workshop. |
